Avira Antivirus

Question

How do I prevent Avira AntiVirus from detecting Workplace Monitor files?

Answer

Before you run the Workplace Monitor Setup program, disable all antivirus scanning at the computer. Add the Workplace Monitor Workplace Monitor folder displayed during installation to the whitelist used by this antivirus software, as described below.

Disable Avira AntiVirus

Disable antivirus scanning while you run the setup program. Look for the Avira up-arrow icon in the system tray. Right-click on the icon. Select to UNCHECK Realtime Protection enable.

Run the Workplace Monitor setup

If you have already installed Workplace Monitor, you can re-install without losing data, and obtain the folder name.

1.   Run the Workplace Monitor Setup program.

2.   During the installation, a dialog box with a stop sign appears. Click Save to create a document listing the folder and files for this installation.

Name the file and note the location where you save it (for example, in the Documents folder). The file opens automatically and displays the Workplace Monitor folder and file names.

NOTE: Your folder and files will be different!

3.   Return to the Workplace Monitor installation panel and click the check box to verify you have read the instructions. You can then click Continue.
